| Is
laser hair removal permanent? |
Body
hair is natural. The laser impairs its growth so that it grows back
more and more slowly and finely, leading to increasingly longer lasting
bare skin.
Considering
that tolerance to pain varies with the individuals, the fact that most
patients experience a slight tingling sensation gives laser hair removal
a big advantage over the other methods. The treatment is so gentle that
no anesthesia is needed.
| Is
hair removed in the same way as in electrolysis? |
No.
Besides the need for local anesthesia, in electrolysis the hair follicles
are burnt during the process, which may result in scarring and skin
discoloration. The laser, due to its physical characteristics in combination
with the lotion, is regarded as the safest hair removal procedure for
your skin.
| How
long is the recovery, or convalescence, period? |
Patients
can resume their daily routine immediately after the treatment. If any
treated area of the skin is to be exposed to sunlight, the use of sunscreen
(with at least an SPF 15) for 48 hours is recommended.
